This payment in lieu amount may vary and is informed <br /> by the assessed rate managed by Orange County Tax Administration. Builders FirstSource will <br /> also continue to pay all utility and maintenance costs for the property. Orange County will <br /> continue to benefit from the economic impact of Builders FirstSource's regional distribution <br /> operation and employment investment located in Hillsborough. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are applicable <br /> to this agenda item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> • GOAL: ESTABLISH SUSTAINABLE AND EQUITABLE LAND-USE AND <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of people of all races, cultures, <br /> incomes and educational levels with respect to the development and enforcement of <br /> environmental laws, regulations, policies, and decisions. Fair treatment means that no <br /> group of people should bear a disproportionate share of the negative environmental <br /> consequences resulting from industrial, governmental and commercial operations or <br /> policies. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board: <br /> 1) approve a Lease Modification to Builders FirstSource that provides a 10 year <br /> lease extension with two 5 year renewal options for County owned property <br /> located at 401 Valley Forge Road, Hillsborough; and <br /> 2) authorize the Chair to execute the Resolution for Lease and the Lease <br /> Modification upon final review of the County Attorney. <br />
