The TTA Board will be responsible for establishing policy direction with <br />input from the advisory panel, <br />• TTA staff will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and operation of <br />community transportation services in the three-county region <br />Conclusion <br />This report demonstrates the feasibility and benefit of regionalizing the community <br />transportation systems in the Triangle region, from both the customer and <br />financial/organizational perspectives. Additionally, new funding programs and incentives <br />for the regionalization of services reinforce these potential benefits to customers and <br />operators. <br />Phase 1 of the scope of work was to conduct a feasibility study of regionalization of <br />community transportation systems in the Triangle region. Based on the results of the <br />work to date, the regionalization of community transportation services is clearly feasible <br />and has the potential to improve overall service to the customer, service to affected <br />agencies, as well as provide improved linkages to the fixed route network, which often <br />serves many of the same customers. <br />A second phase of study, if supported by the affected counties, would be to create a <br />Transition-Implementation Plan. This plan would further develop and detail the <br />organizational structures, operating costs and capital costs associated with the alternative <br />or alternatives under consideration and provide a guide to implementation of the newly <br />structured services, <br />Regional Ti~ansportatiar Development Plan - Executive S:rnnnmy 17 <br />
