Our list of <br /> specialists continues to grow and will continue to do so for the 2017/18 program year. A <br /> selection of biographies is included below. Additional CVs attached. <br /> Donovan Zimmerman <br /> Donovan Zimmerman is the co-founder and artistic director of Paperhand Puppet Intervention. Since <br /> 1998, Paperhand has used giant puppets, masks, stilts, painted flats, and rod and shadows puppets to <br /> tell stories, illuminate myths, create spectacle, and inspire people of all ages.Their work is a synergy of <br /> art forms from design and theater,to dance and sculpture to painting, writing, sewing, and much more. <br /> Donovan has partnered and collaborated with Kidzu Children's Museum since its inception in 2006 and is <br /> always thrilled to "co-curate" with the Kidzu families during weekend Mix it Up programs. <br /> Jim Adams <br /> Jim Adams took up artistry in iron and steel after 24 years in the information technologies field. Prior <br /> Prior to his years in IT, he had worked in the welding industry, selling specialty welding items for <br /> approximately 8 years. During that time Adams developed the skill & knowledge of working with metals. <br /> His desire to do artful things with this knowledge was something of a back burner interest that never <br /> seemed to go away, Adams now devotes his career to sculpture of a variety of themes, from surreal <br /> steel flowers, to aspects of humanity,to thought provoking abstracts.The work is minimalist in <br /> construction; its nature is raw& powerful. Most of his works are solid and substantial & can be displayed <br /> outdoors as well as indoors Adams� <br /> metal airplane to the climbing wall bell created during a weekend Mix It Up program. <br /> Anna Podris <br /> Anna Podris is a painter working in Raleigh, North Carolina. Podris is inspired by using encaustic <br /> ' <br /> depict foliage and the fresh air of wilderness areas as well as the vibrancy of diverse urban areas. Podris <br /> shows her work at Artspace in downtown Raleigh, as well as being represented in NY by Gitana Rosa <br /> gallery. Podris has participated in numerous Mix It Up in the Makery programs showing children how to <br /> use encaustic wax safely to create collage art, <br /> Amy Richards <br /> Amy Richards is the illustrator, maker and creator behind Amy Richards Illustration. She lives in Raleigh, <br /> NC where she works from her home studio. While Amy has lived in various parts of the United States, <br /> she draws lots of inspiration from the ever growing and evolving culture of North Carolina. Her playful <br /> and whimsical style is inspired by vintage children's book illustration and her work with children as an Art <br /> Educator. Her work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, on stationery, art prints,a Raleigh city bus, <br /> and women's apparel. Richards is publishing her first children's picture book in 2017, and continues to <br /> work with Kidzu to design work alongside children in our Makery and Learning Garden. <br />
