Klausmeyer, DMA holds degrees in rnusrc from Meredith College, the University of North Carolina <br /> at Chapel Hill, Westmlester Choir College in Princeton, NJ where she studied with Joseph Flurnrnerifelt, <br /> and the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, where she studied conducting with Earl <br /> Rivers and John Leman. She pursued additional studies in voice and Baroque performance practice at <br /> the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, studying with Dutch baritone Max von <br /> Egmend, <br /> Dr, Klausmeyer has conducted VOICES since the fall of 2000 in choral and orchestral performances, <br /> During this period she has initiated the VOICES Summer Chorus; Cantari, a VOICES select ensemble; <br /> and the Carolina International Chorale, a summer touring group that has performed in Italy (2006), <br /> Central Europe(2010), Ireland (2014) and Northern Spain (2016). <br /> De Klausmeyer also conducts the UNC Women's Glee Club in multiple concerts annually. For the past <br /> ten years she has used the vehicle of choral music to benefit both high school students and the NC Food <br /> Bank through the annual"Carolina Women's Choral Showcase"and food drive, in which significant works <br /> written for women's choirs is performed by girls from multiple area high schools in a benefit concert for the <br /> food, bank <br /> Jr. Klausmeyer has performed as a mezzo soprano soloist and choral singer with numerous professional <br /> groups. She is frequently called upon as a guest conductor or choral clinician for high school, university <br /> and church choirs. She was awarded a 1997 educational grant from the University of Cincinnati to study <br /> the music manuscripts of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, particularly his choralforchestral work <br /> 'Dona Nobis Pacer)," Under her baton, VOICES performed this work most recently an May 6, 2017 at <br /> Memorial Hall, UNC at Chapel Hill. She was also awarded a competitive conducting fellowship in 2003 by <br /> Chorus America. <br /> Dr. Kleusmeyer brings finely crafted programming and vigorous interpretation of both modern and <br /> classical works to Triangle audiences. For example, both 2016-17 Voices concerts featured the work of <br /> contemporary Welsh composer Kari Jenkins. She also is known for promoting the works of kcal artists <br /> and composers For example, the works of North Carolina composer Dan Locklair (Composer-in- <br /> residence at Wake Forest University) were performed by Cantari on March 4, 2017 and his work will be <br /> featured again in the upcoming VOICES December, 2017 concert. Works by Jeremy Jennings, recently of <br /> North Carolina, will be debuted by Cantari at their May, 201 concert VOICES brought Elizabeth <br /> Alexander to Chapel Hill in July, 2015, for the debut performance of her work'Sue loves butter!"with <br /> Summer VOICES In 2006, Dr, Klausmeyer brought internationally acclaimed composer Gwyneth Walker <br /> to Chapel Hill for VOICES' 25 anniversary concert for the debut of her work"Together in Song," Thus, <br /> Or.
