ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: April 18, 2006 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 6-G <br />SUBJECT: Resolution of Appreciation for Volunteers Serving on County Advisory Boards <br />and Commissions <br />DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Resolution <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Clerk's Office, 245-2130 <br />PURPOSE: To consider a resolution of appreciation for the volunteers who serve on County <br />advisory boards and commissions, <br />BACKGROUND: The 33`d annual National Volunteer Week will be April 23-29, 2006, The <br />purpose of this week is to recognize and celebrate the efforts of volunteers at the local, state <br />and national levels, The theme for National Volunteer Week 2006 will be "Inspire by Example." <br />During the month of April, County Commissioners will show their appreciation for all the time <br />and effort that the volunteers, who serve on County advisory boards and commissions, give to <br />Orange County by presenting each volunteer with a gift. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: An allocation for recognition of volunteers is included in the BOCC <br />2005-2006 fiscal year budget, <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the resolution <br />of appreciation and authorize the Chair to sign, <br />
