Artist involved in the project <br /> Sonny Kelly is an African-American artist and teacher with over a decade of youth work in <br /> acting, poetry, and spoken word. Over the last year, he has led workshops at Boomerang on a <br /> pro bono basis, leading students through self-expression activities that involved writing, spoken <br /> word and performing/public speaking. He has the ability to connect with young people and <br /> inspire them to flex their creative muscle. <br /> Sonny will be responsible for delivering 25 spoken word/writing workshops over the course of <br /> the 2017-18 school year, and will be reimbursed at the rate of$100/workshop. <br /> 8. Describe how the pr ject will be publicized and promoted to reach intended participants. <br /> Boomerang will be providing these workshops to students who attend our programming. <br /> 9. Describe how you will evaluate the project. <br /> We will assess results in the following ways: <br /> 1) Ability to recruit and retain youth to engage in workshops <br /> 2) Participation in public performances <br /> 3) Production of digital and printed anthology of writings <br /> 4) Student and community feedback <br /> As part of Boomerang's ongoing program evaluation, focus groups are conducted throughout <br /> the year for all program components. <br /> 201r xophK pwc�c,| * <br />
