He <br /> said the BOCC did not review this project before it was forwarded. He said Orange County is <br /> receiving very little funding from the MPO, and he believes the OUTBoard was being more <br /> aggressive in a good faith attempt to secure more funds, but there needs to be a clearly <br /> defined process. <br /> Chair Dorosin said the entire BOCC just came from the groundbreaking of the Rogers <br /> Road water and sewer line installation. <br /> 4. Proclamation Recognizing Orange High School Softball Team Winning the 2017 <br /> State Championship <br /> The Board considered approving a proclamation recognizing the Orange High School <br /> Softball Team for winning the 2017 State Championship and authorizing the Chair to sign. <br /> Eddie Davidson, Orange High School's Softball Coach, and team members were in <br /> attendance. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs read the proclamation: <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION ON <br /> ORANGE HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL TEAM <br /> WINNING THE 2017 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP <br /> WHEREAS, on June 3, 2017, the Orange High School Softball Team captured the North <br /> Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) 3A State Softball <br /> Championship; and <br /> WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach Eddie Davidson, the Orange High School Softball <br /> Team earned its first NCHSAA State title in Orange High history; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lady Panthers completed the season with a 26-3 record; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange High School Softball Team included the Gatorade North Carolina <br /> Softball Player of the Year for 2016-17, Mia Davidson; and <br /> WHEREAS, through hard work, dedication, teamwork, and commitment, the Lady Panthers <br /> brought honor upon themselves, Orange High School, the Orange County <br /> School District, and Orange County; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> expresses its sincere appreciation and respect for the Orange High School <br /> Softball Team and Coach Davidson, for the Panthers' outstanding <br /> achievement, and their inspiration to youth across North Carolina through their <br /> dedication, teamwork, and athletic prowess. <br /> This the 20th day of June 2017. <br />
