Approval of Fiscal Year 2017-18 Budget Ordinance, County Grant Projects, and <br /> 18 County Fee Schedule <br /> 19 The Board considered approving the fiscal year 2017-18 Budget Ordinance, County <br /> 20 Grant Projects, and County Fee Schedule. <br /> 21 Travis Myren made the following PowerPoint presentation: <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Budget Adoption <br /> 24 June 20, 2017 <br /> 25 Southern Human Services Center <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Decision Points <br /> 28 • Approve the Amended Intent to Adopt Resolution <br /> 29 o Added Community Paramedic Coordinator—fully offset by outside revenue <br /> 30 o Corrected typographical errors <br /> 31 • Discuss Restoration of Chamber of Commerce Dues - $9,500 <br /> 32 o Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber- $8,500 <br /> 33 o Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber- $1,000 <br /> 34 o Could use $112,309 funds from the amendment process <br /> 35 • Redirect Balance of Funds - $102,809 if Chamber funding is restored <br /> 36 o Option 1 — Save money in the General Fund <br /> 37 Increase undesignated reserve from 16% to 16.05% <br /> 38 Reset the Chapel Hill-Carrboro District Tax rate to revenue neutral rate of <br /> 39 20.18 cents <br /> 40 o Option 2 — Reduce the Countywide Tax Rate <br /> 41 Reduce the County Ad Valorem Tax rate by 0.06 cents to 83.71 cents <br /> 42 Reset the Chapel Hill-Carrboro District Tax rate to revenue neutral rate of <br /> 43 20.18 cents <br /> 44 o Option 3— Distribute to Undesignated One Time Funds for School Districts <br /> 45 Provide $61,788 in one time funds to Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools <br /> 46 Provide $41,021 in one time funds to Orange County Schools <br /> 47 Reset the Chapel Hill-Carrboro District Tax Rate to 20.18 cents or reduce <br /> 48 the District Tax Rate to 20.13 cents <br /> 49 • Redirect Balance of Funds - $112,309 if Chamber funding is not restored <br /> 50 o Option 1 — Save money in the General Fund <br />
