Proclamation Recognizing Orange High School Softball Team Winning the 2017 <br /> 11 State Championship <br /> 12 The Board considered approving a proclamation recognizing the Orange High School <br /> 13 Softball Team for winning the 2017 State Championship and authorizing the Chair to sign. <br /> 14 Eddie Davidson, Orange High School's Softball Coach, and team members were in <br /> 15 attendance. <br /> 16 Commissioner Jacobs read the proclamation: <br /> 17 <br /> 18 ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> 19 PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION ON <br /> 20 ORANGE HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL TEAM <br /> 21 WINNING THE 2017 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP <br /> 22 <br /> 23 WHEREAS, on June 3, 2017, the Orange High School Softball Team captured the North <br /> 24 Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) 3A State Softball <br /> 25 Championship; and <br /> 26 <br /> 27 WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach Eddie Davidson, the Orange High School Softball <br /> 28 Team earned its first NCHSAA State title in Orange High history; and <br /> 29 <br /> 30 WHEREAS, the Lady Panthers completed the season with a 26-3 record; and <br /> 31 <br /> 32 WHEREAS, the Orange High School Softball Team included the Gatorade North Carolina <br /> 33 Softball Player of the Year for 2016-17, Mia Davidson; and <br /> 34 <br /> 35 WHEREAS, through hard work, dedication, teamwork, and commitment, the Lady Panthers <br /> 36 brought honor upon themselves, Orange High School, the Orange County <br /> 37 School District, and Orange County; <br /> 38 <br /> 39 NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> 40 expresses its sincere appreciation and respect for the Orange High School <br /> 41 Softball Team and Coach Davidson, for the Panthers' outstanding <br /> 42 achievement, and their inspiration to youth across North Carolina through their <br /> 43 dedication, teamwork, and athletic prowess. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 This the 20th day of June 2017. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Rich for the <br /> 48 Board to approve the proclamation recognizing Orange High School's Softball Team for winning <br /> 49 the 2017 State Championship and authorized the Chair to sign the proclamation on behalf of <br /> 50 the Board. <br />
