He proposed that the Board treat the SRO <br /> 2 question as a proposal for next year, and see if the school boards are interested. <br /> 3 Commissioner Burroughs said it is a serious issue, and it is ultimately a school board <br /> 4 decision. <br /> 5 Commissioner Jacobs suggested adding this topic to their next joint school board <br /> 6 meeting in the fall. <br /> 7 Paul Laughton clarified that the current expense funding is remaining as it is in the <br /> 8 Manager's recommended budget, which is $80,745,847, with $48.5 million to CHCCS and <br /> 9 $32.2 million to OCS. <br /> 10 Chair Dorosin said any changes that were going to be made were already done, and <br /> 11 now all seem prepared to adopt the Manager's recommendations. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 • Resolution of Intent to Adopt FY2017-18 Annual Operating Budget at the Board of <br /> 14 County Commissioners Regular Meeting on June 20, 2017 <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Adopt Manager's Recommendation: <br /> 17 • Funding for Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools and Orange County Schools <br /> 18 • Current Expense (Per Pupil) Funding — $80 million: $48.5 million to Chapel Hill and <br /> 19 $32.2 million for OCS. <br /> 20 • • Recurring Capital <br /> 21 • • Long-Range Capital <br /> 22 <br /> 23 A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner Burroughs to <br /> 24 fund the CHCCS and OCS as voted on before, keep the recommended Current Expense (Per <br /> 25 Pupil) and approve the Recurring Capital and Long Range Capital as recommended in the <br /> 26 Manager's Recommended Budget. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 29 <br /> 30 • Tax Rate Decisions <br /> 31 i. Ad Valorem Tax <br /> 32 <br /> 33 A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner McKee to set <br /> 34 at the Ad Valorem Tax rate at 83.77 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 37 <br /> 38 ii.
