23 <br /> AGENDA ITEM <br /> • RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COMMENTS TO ORANGE COUNTY BOARD <br /> OF COMMISSIONERS TO PROTECT THE CANE CREEK WATERSHED <br /> PURPOSE <br /> • To review Orange County's proposed response to the Authority's August 23, 1993 <br /> position statement to the Orange County Commissioners, and to consider a resolution <br /> restating that position, <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> • On August 23, 1993 the Authority submitted comments to the Orange County Board <br /> of Commissioners regarding proposed changes to countywide watershed protection <br /> requirements. <br /> • After receiving input through public hearing and recommendations by County staff <br /> and Planning Board, the Commissioners are now considering a package of ordinance <br /> changes that fall substantially short of the Authority's adopted position for the Cane <br /> Creek watershed.
