The purpose of this public hearing will be to receive public comments on a third one- <br /> half cent (1/2¢) Local Government Sales and Use Tax authorized by Section 34.14(a) of <br /> Session Law 2001-424 and codified as Article 44 of Chapter 105 of the General Statutes of <br /> North Carolina. The notice is worded as required by law. The Board of County Commissioners <br /> has not prejudged whether it will or will not adopt a resolution levying this tax. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): Direct the County Manager, on behalf of the Board of County <br /> Commissioners, to publish a notice of the Board's intent to adopt a resolution levying %% local <br /> sales and use tax in addition to any other state and local sales and use taxes levied pursuant <br /> by law. <br />
