`YOW~B ®F CR.F2RBOFt® <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />WWW TOW NO FCARRBO RO ORG <br />The following resolution was introduced by Alderman Alex Zaffron and duly seconded <br />by Joal Hall Broun. <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS CONSIDER OWNERSHIP TRANSFER <br />OF SELECTED COUNTY-OWNED PARCELS <br />WITHIN THE CARRBORO CITY LIMITS <br />Resolution No. 04/2005-05 <br />WHEREAS, the Carrboro Board of Aldermen seeks to create contiguous areas within the <br />town that provide for integrated natural resource stewazdship as well as recreational <br />opportunities for its residents and visitors, and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County currently has title to a parcel (PIN 9778-97-5883; 0.2 acres) <br />adjacent to Baldwin Park in the downtown azea of Catrhoro, and <br />WHEREAS, Orange County currently has title to an open space in the Fox Meadow <br />subdivision (PIN 9870-14-9741; 5.0 acres), and <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Cazrbaro Recreation & Parks, Public Worlcs, and Planning <br />depaztments carefully evaluate land use in the Town of Carrboro and maintain all park <br />properties owned by the Town of Cazrboro, <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Carrboro Boazd of Aldermen that the <br />Aldermen respectfully request that the Orange County Board of County Commissioners <br />consider transfer of these properties to the Town of Carrhoro. <br />The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vo±e, received the follow~ne ~~ote <br />and was duly adopted this 16`h day of August, 2005: <br />Ayes: .foal Hall Broun, Mark Chilton, Jacquelyn Gist, John Herrera, Diana McDuffee, <br />Alex Zaffron, Michael Nelson <br />Noes: None <br />Absent or' Excused: None <br />301 WEST MAIN STREET CARRBORO NO 27510 19191 9428541 FA% 19 7 91 9184456 TDD IBOOI 826-7653 <br />AN EOUA~ OPPORTUNITY PROVIDER <br />
