Know the subdivisions, roads, locations of most <br /> streets.Am able to run and organize a business. <br /> What do you see as the responsibilities of this board,and what do you hope to <br /> accomplish if appointed? <br /> It is to be sure that the taxpayer/property owner is equitably and fairly assessed for his equitable <br /> contribution to the tax revenues for the county. To assure that his dwelling is accurately <br /> represented to the tax office so that is can be fairly assessed. In the event that he/she is being <br /> inappropriately assessed or if there is an error in the data on file, It give the opportunity to prove <br /> this. <br /> Boards/Commissions appointments: <br /> Board of Equalization and Review(REQUIRES DISCLOSURE STATEMENT) <br /> Application Date: 2/2/2015 <br /> Background,education and experience relevant to this board: <br /> Real Estate broker off and on since 1981. Full time 82-85, part time since then. Real Estate <br /> Appraiser in Orange county since 1985. Have personally appraised 8,000+properties including <br /> homes, condominiums,small mutli family and vacant land.Am fully <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> It makes good use of my skills. Now that I work part time rather than full time, I can offer my <br /> expertise and time to serve the county I have lived in since 1981. <br /> Conflict of Interest: <br /> Work Experience: Davis Appraisal Services (self-employed). 16 years of experience as a <br /> Real Estate Appraiser with work done primarily in Orange County, North Carolina. Have <br /> also done work as an appraiser in Durham and Chatham County. Have held a real <br /> estate Brokers license since 1981. Was a full time real estate agent from1982 - 1985. <br /> Have sold some propeerty since then on a limited basis. Own and manage some rental <br /> property. <br /> Volunteer Experience: Have served on the appraisal committee for the Chapel Hill Board <br /> of Realtors. Volunteer 2 nights a month at the homeless shelter in Chapel Hill (since Jan. <br /> 2001). Have served on the E&R Board. In 2012 as an alternate, in 2011 as a member <br /> on a few other years prior to that. <br /> Education: High School Diploma. 1 1/2 years of liberal arts study at 4 year college in <br /> NYS, 2 Year Associates Degree in Real Estate (from a technical school), graduate of The ' <br /> Realtors Institute (GRI), have taken many appraisal courses over the years for continuing <br />
