ORANGE COUNTY <br /> ARTS COMMISSION <br /> March 2,2017 <br /> Donna Baker <br /> Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners <br /> 200 South Cameron Street <br /> Hillsborough,NC 27278 <br /> Dear Donna: <br /> The Orange County Arts Commission(OCAC)currently has four vacancies. <br /> The OCAC Advisory Board reviewed the list of applicants as of the last board meeting on Monday,February 13, <br /> 2017. Of the three applications on file as of that date,the board recommends the appointment of Tarish Pipldns <br /> (Position#3)and Anita Mills(Position#12). Both candidates are working artists and highly connected to the arts <br /> community. Mr.Pipkins is highly involved with arts programming for at-risk youth,and Ms.Mills will serve as a <br /> liaison between our board and the Orange County Artists'Guild. <br /> We have five board members whose terms will be expiring March 31,2017: <br /> • Tinka Jordy(position#5)will be serving a second term <br /> • Dan Mayer(position#4)will be serving his first full term <br /> • Ashley Nissler(position#11)will be serving a second term <br /> • Andrea Riley(position#10)will be serving her first full term <br /> • Joy Salyers(position#9)will not be serving a second term <br /> If these two new board applicants are approved,that will leave three vacancies(positions#9,#13,#14)after Ms. <br /> Salyers'term ends 3-31-2017.
