H | 1 |U <br /> onnunign Envelope ID: 1eC4En7u1oe7-4oco-9oen-0ua000noareu <br /> Exhibit A: Pr.je t Specification. for Sewer Line Cleaning and Video Recording <br /> Overview <br /> It is the intent f t ese specificatio s to provide enough information for a Contractor with the <br /> proper equipment to cl-a the gravity sew:r lines and produce a video (DVD)after cleaning that shows <br /> the condition of the in 'd- of the lines. <br /> For this project, Orang- ounty will suppl the following: <br /> • A water source, ik:Iy a hydrant on t e Orange Alamance Water System (OAWS)in the vicinity of <br /> the lines to be cleaned. <br /> • Coordination with :nd by our sewe maintenance entity, the City of Mebane, to control pump <br /> station operatioris .uch that they d not interfere with your sewer cleaning operation. <br /> • Coordination wi!) t e City of Meban- to allow the disposal of waste from the cleaning process at <br /> the City of Meb ,n- Wastewater Tr-atnnent Plant at no charge. <br /> • Notification to all th- Efland Sewer c stomers that line cleaning and video recording will be taking <br /> place. J <br /> The Contractor will bel e pected to provid- all equipment and labor to clean and video the specified <br /> gravity sewer lines of the -ewer system, as described more completely below. The selected Contractor <br /> will be responsible for rnai taining a safe wo rking environment and adhering to all confined space and/or <br /> sewer work requirements <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Cleaning <br /> This project consists of clr aning and video ng (CCTV) 8" gravity sewer lines. The project is divided into <br /> three (3) phases as follo ings: <br /> • Phase 3 — approxi ately 7,300 line:r feet <br /> • Phase 4 — approxi ately 5,600 line:r feet <br /> • Phase 5 — approxi ately 5,900 line.r feet <br /> Some of the lines to be 'leaned are off-road, in cross-country easements. These easements will be <br /> cleared prior to cleaning . nd will be passable, i.e. stumps will be cut to ground level and overhanging <br /> limbs will be removed, bu there is no "roa " along the easement. Contractors interested in bidding the <br /> project are encourage4 t investigate the roject area beforehand and bid accordingly. <br /> Water for cleaning will be supplied by Ora ge County, most likely from a nearby hydrant. The hydrant <br /> does not belong to Orang- County, but rat er to the Orange-Alamance Water System (OAWS). There <br /> will be no charge to the ontractor for the water used, but the contractor will need to coordinate with <br /> OAWS to get a water met-r installed on th hydrant they will use and record the amount of water used <br /> and will need to coordinai- the withdrawal of water with OAWS directly. <br /> Sewer line cleaning shall e performed to r move foreign material from the sanitary sewer lines for clear <br /> viewing of the interior surf:ce of the pipe d iring the video inspection and restore the pipe to at least 95% <br /> original capacity. <br /> Conditions discovered in t e pipe, such as rotruding pipes, blockages, roots, etc. that can be removed <br /> by conventional means, e g. cutting, shoul be removed by the Contractor as part of the performance of <br />
