It wasn't the students, necessarily or the nightlife. Instead it was the town, neighborhoods, and the small business owners and everything else that distinguishes Chapel Hill, My primary purpose in wanting to serve on the Historic Preservation Commission is that I have an understanding of the needs as well as the constraints that must be imposed in such an area/ I grew up in Salisbury NC in the historic district and I have also lived in Greensville South Carolina in a historic district there. During my tenure in college I was a member of the Ginghaul Castle, so I know that neighborhood as well. This is something that I would pursue with goad faith efforts to improve the town as much as possible. As a side note, I was a History and Political Science major at UNC-CH.
