F. Wilkerson <br /> Contracting Company for the construction of the Efland Sewer to Mebane, Phase 2 Extension at <br /> a total cost of $3,586,121 to serve part of the Efland-Buckhorn-Mebane Utility Planning Area <br /> (Attachment 2). <br /> BACKGROUND: This item relates to the construction phase of the project. The scope of the <br /> project and the current design and bid award engineer information is noted below. <br /> This project was approved as part of the FY2015-16 Budget/Capital Investment Plan. The <br /> approximate 4.5-mile project spans an area from Efland and then south and west towards the <br /> Buckhorn EDD and The City of Mebane. This project can serve approximately 786 additional <br /> acres with the proposed sewer pump station. A sewer force main extends along West Ten and <br /> Bowman Road to an existing gravity sewer system on Rock Quarry Road which was part of a <br /> previous phase. An overview of the project is included as a two-page BOCC Exhibit <br /> (Attachment 3). <br />
