1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: June 20, 2017 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 4-b <br /> SUBJECT: Proclamation Recognizing Carrboro High School Women's Soccer Team <br /> Winning the 2017 State Championship <br /> DEPARTMENT: BOCC <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Proclamation <br /> Donna Baker, Clerk to the Orange County <br /> Board of Commissioners, (919) 245- <br /> 2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider a proclamation recognizing the Carrboro High School Women's Soccer <br /> Team for winning the 2017 State Championship. <br /> BACKGROUND: On May 27, 2017, the Carrboro High School Women's Soccer Team captured <br /> the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) 2A State Women's Soccer <br /> Championship. <br /> Under the guidance of Coach Jared Drexler, the Carrboro High School Women's Soccer Team <br /> earned its fourth NCHSAA State title, also winning the State title in 2012, 2015 and 2016, and <br /> ending the 2017 season with a 21-1-1 record. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with consideration of this <br /> proclamation. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There are no Orange County Social Justice goals applicable to <br /> this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the attached <br /> proclamation recognizing the Carrboro High School Women's Soccer Team for winning the <br /> 2017 State Championship and authorize the Chair to sign the proclamation on behalf of the <br /> Board. <br />
