In the future, the
University and Orange County may decide to modify the landfill gas collection and control
system or to re-structure the landfill gas-to-energy project and SCS' team of landfill gas experts
are ready to assist the landfill with any current or future gas system inquiries should they arise.
Other potential projects/functions that may be anticipated include preparation of presentation
material for public meetings (including AutoCAD drawings,poster boards, renderings, etc.);
attendance at meetings, preparing design and bid documents for department projects; assistance
in preparing scope of work requests for proposals; assistance with review of bid documents and
proposals; preparing drawings, calculations, evaluations, estimates, assessments, etc.; and
interpretation of rules/legislation. We specialize in
creating accurate and precise construction documents and plans that adhere to state and federal
regulations. Our close relationship with the North Carolina Department of Environmental
Quality(NCDEQ) allows our firm to gain helpful insight as to upcoming changes to state
regulations that will affect the design and operation of your landfill and other facilities.
Environmental Monitoring and Reporting
Specific topics and subject areas that are identified in the RFQ and fall under SCS'
environmental monitoring and reporting practice related to solid waste and sustainable materials
management facilities include Gas Remediation, Regulatory Compliance, Site Assessment, and
Groundwater Management/Monitoring (including Collecting field samples, Laboratory Services,
Assessment of Analytical Results, Reporting to the State, and Remediation).
