The Town of <br /> 3 Carrboro's long-time zoning designation for the area is R-10 (Residential, 10,000 square feet <br /> 4 per dwelling unit), which is too small a lot size on which to locate well and septic systems. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Staffs are at a loss to explain why this area was not designated "Primary Service Area" when <br /> 7 the WASMPBA was adopted in 2001, particularly since the area is not listed in the text of the <br /> 8 Agreement (Section IV of Agreement in Attachment 4) as an exception area. Nevertheless, the <br /> 9 adopted WASMPBA map currently designates the area in question as "OWASA Long-Term <br /> 10 Interest Area" so new water or sewer connections cannot be permitted. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 The proposed amendments in the Smith Level Road Area include: <br /> 13 • Designating 20.6 acres "Primary Service Area". <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Attachment 1 is a Resolution to approve the amendments with maps depicting the geographic <br /> 16 extent of the amendment areas.
