Mr. Waters encouraged staff to <br /> do their best with the gifts and resources available and to always share their knowledge. <br /> In memory and appreciation of Philip "Nick" Waters' efforts, the proposal to name the <br /> Emergency Services building at 510 Meadowlands as the Philip "Nick" Waters Center is <br /> presented to the Board of Orange County Commissioners for consideration. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no immediate financial impact related to this discussion. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENABLE FULL CIVIC PARTICIPATION <br /> Ensure that Orange County residents are able to engage government through <br /> voting and volunteering by eliminating disparities in participation and barriers to <br /> participation. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the <br /> request and information for consideration regarding naming the Emergency Services <br /> building at 510 Meadowlands Drive as the Philip "Nick" Waters Center and, as outlined <br /> in the Board's attached policy: <br /> 2.6 Upon receipt of the report and the recommendations of the Manager, the <br /> BOCC will state its intent to consider the adoption of a resolution for the <br /> naming or renaming of the public building, facility or land at the next or some <br /> subsequent meeting as determined by the BOCC. <br />
