3 <br /> 5) Owners Wayne Parmley and Alicia Belcher have submitted an application to enroll one (1) <br /> parcel of land totaling of 42 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District <br /> (VAD) program located in the Cedar Grove Agricultural District. The farm includes seasonal <br /> vegetables, pasture for hogs, goats, and chickens, and managed woodland. The farm has <br /> been evaluated against each of the VAD certification requirement standards and meets or <br /> exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 6) Owners Jeff Berst and Stephanie Bullins have submitted an application to enroll one (1) <br /> parcel of land totaling 52 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District <br /> (VAD) program in the Caldwell Agricultural District. The farm operation includes tobacco and <br /> hay crops, transitioning to vegetables, berries, and fruit trees; in addition to managed <br /> woodland. The farm has been evaluated against each of the VAD certification requirement <br /> standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 7) Owners of the Merry Hill Farm, represented by Lynne Holtkamp (on behalf of multiple family <br /> members), have submitted an application to enroll five (5) parcels of land totaling of 115.25 <br /> acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) program located in <br /> the Cane Creek/Buckhorn Agricultural District. The farm includes beef cattle, pasture, hay <br /> crops and managed woodland. The farm has been evaluated against each of the VAD <br /> certification requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 8) Owner Lee Miller has submitted an application to enroll two (2) parcel of land totaling 50.63 <br /> acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) program in the <br /> Caldwell Agricultural District. The farm operation includes hay crops and managed <br /> woodland. The farm property has been evaluated against each of the VAD certification <br /> requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 9) Owner Ann Bacon Hollowell has submitted an application to update ownership for one (1) <br /> parcel of land totaling 42.22 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural <br /> District (VAD) program located in the Schley/Eno Agricultural District. The parcel is part of <br /> the original Bacon Family enrolled in the VAD program in 2002; therefore, these acres will <br /> not increase the overall acreage in the program. The farm includes grain and hay crops, and <br /> transitioning to pastures. The farm has been evaluated against each of the VAD certification <br /> requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 10) Owners Michael and Sherry Miller Scully have submitted an application to update <br /> ownership for one (1) parcel of land totaling 44.2 acres as qualifying farmland for the <br /> Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) program in the Caldwell Agricultural District. The parcel <br /> is part of the original Miller Family enrolled in the VAD program in 2002; therefore, these <br /> acres will not increase the overall acres in the program. The farm operation includes beef <br /> cattle, pastures, hay crops and managed woodland. The farm property has been evaluated <br /> against each of the VAD certification requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the <br /> measures above. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. Voluntary Agricultural <br /> Districts are non-monetary and non-binding conservation agreements. Enhanced Voluntary <br /> Agriculture Districts are non-monetary and are binding 10-year conservation agreements. <br />
