7,~~ '~iinvtes of the Board of County Commissioners <br />June 13th, 1955. <br />The Eoard of Commis sinners of Orange County met in the Commissioner's <br />room of the courthouse on frtonday, Tune 13th, at 7:30 p. m. with all members <br />bein¢ present. <br />Tha purpose of the meet Sna was to study the proposed budget for 1955-56. ~ <br />I <br />Tha Hoard set hearings with the County School Hoard, Orange County '~ <br />Welfare Denar tmant and the Chapel ?111 Adminlstrs five Unit on June 20th, <br />22nd and 27th, resnectlvely. <br />After setting these hearing the Board continued its budget study until <br />11 p. m, then ad,j Darned. <br />A, J. Gott is <br />Ac tins Clerk <br />tdinutea of the Board of County Commis stoners <br />June 15, 1955 <br />The Board of County Commissioners met at 7:30 o. m. on Tuna 15th in the <br />Commissione rs' room of the courthouse, with all members being present. <br />The Durpose of this mee ti n~ was to continue the budget study, <br />Comr, Lenie r, Sntrod acted the following resolution, :vhi ch received a .Ji <br />second by Comr. :Ya lke r. <br />"To the Borth Carols ns State Department of Conservation and Development <br />end/or To Ylhom It Nay Concern: <br />The Hoard of County Commissioners of Orange County, North Carolina, in <br />formal session this the 15th day of June, 19$5, declares and certifies, as a <br />matter of record, as follows: <br />1. Zt is the policy of this Board to encourage the expansion of <br />agricultural end industrial ac ti vl ties in Orange County; <br />2. That this Board belie vas, 1n stn ti,na that null cy, that it is <br />ezp ress ing the :vi 11 and desire of the people of Orange County. <br />3. Th¢t this Eoard, repras anti na the peonle of Orange County, not only <br />wants to but will encourage Sn every cvay feasible and legal, the aspens ion <br />of Present aaricul total and industrial actl vi tl es in this County; and that <br />this Hoard welcomes to Orange County additional industrial plants of a <br />des treble and Dermane nt type -- for which Orange County in many respect is <br />an ideal location, <br />4. That this Board declares as a matter of record that St will, within <br />its le gal Dowers, underte!te to install or secure the ins to llatlon of a sewer <br />out-tall line of not more than 8" in diameter and a water line of not more <br />then 8" in diamoter to any paw Sndustrinl site in Ornnae County, provided: <br />(s) Thst the County of Orange is offic Sally assured that a <br />firm commitment has been made to build on the site; <br />(b) That tho site is not more than 2 miles from the <br />corporate limits of Orange County mans Gips lity; <br />(c) That the lndus try be a well known and permanent type; ' ~ <br />I <br />(d) That the builds nv, or bulldi ngs, be constructed of -~ <br />permanent materials (masonry) <br />(e) That the building and mach ing ry equipment therein ha va <br />s reasonable app ra isal value of not lass than ~2, 000,000.00; <br />(f) That the Sndus try in operation be one which does not <br />glvo oft noxious fumos and odors and dons not y±eld larder <br />quantl tl es of industrial wastes into the sower sys tam or <br />into open streams. <br />5.
