McAdams Company very much appreciates this <br /> opportunity and we are pleased to offer this proposal for professional services <br /> related to the design and permitting efforts that will be necessary to complete <br /> this project successfully and in a timely manner. <br /> SITE AND PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br /> It is our understanding that Orange County and the Town of Hillsborough both <br /> wish to expand development opportunities on the south side of 1-40 near the <br /> Old NC Highway 86 interchange. A key component to achieving that goal is <br /> to extend water and sanitary sewer to that area. Therefore, the project site will <br /> include the north and south sides of I-40 just west of Old NC Highway 86. <br /> Regarding sanitary sewer, the objective is to extend the sanitary sewer system <br /> from its existing location on the north side of I-40 west of Old NC Highway 86 <br /> and Rippy Lane to the south side of I-40. Based on preliminary assumptions, <br /> the approximate distance for this sanitary sewer extension is roughly 3,800 LF <br /> and the proposed diameter for this extension is 12-inch. <br /> Another objective important to achieving the goal of facilitating development <br /> on the south side of I-40 is to extend waterline from Old NC Highway 86 <br /> The John R.McAdams westward along the existing NCDOT service road.
