Criminal Justice <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Dean, (919) 245-2151 <br />Partnership Program Grant <br />Project Ordinance <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget and grant project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2005- <br />06,. <br />BACKGRAUND: <br />Department of Social Services <br />The Department of Social Services has received notification from the State of additional <br />LINKS funds of $2,852 to be used for the department's independent living program, This <br />program allows the department to offer training to foster care youth regarding job <br />preparation, daily living skills, and money management, This budget amendment provides <br />for the receipt of these funds, and brings the budget for this program to $34,927 for fiscal <br />year 2005-06. (Attachment 1, column #1) <br />Animal Services <br />2, Following approval of the County's FY 2005-06 Annual Operating Budget, the County <br />entered into an agreement with the Town of Chapel Hill to provide animal control and <br />protection services and emergency animal rescue services (EARS), for the period beginning <br />July 1, 2005 and ending June 30, 2006, for a total payment of $71,812. The County's 2005- <br />06 original budget included $66,820 in revenues from the Town of Chapel Hill for the <br />services of animal control and EARS. This budget amendment provides for the increase of <br />budgeted funds from Chapel Hill in the amount of $4,992 for the agreement ending June 30, <br />2006, (See Attachment 1, column #2) <br />
