59 <br /> 2 017-2 022 Orange County Master Aging Plan <br /> ' ry <br /> Assisted living facilities Facilities that provide support services and supervision to residents in <br /> order to ensure their safety and wellbeing. <br /> Built environment Encompasses the physical components of where people live and work (i.e. <br /> homes, buildings, streets, open spaces, infrastructure). The built <br /> environment ultimately influences an individual's level of physical <br /> activity.1° <br /> Chatham-Orange CRC The Chatham-Orange Community Resource Connection (CRC) is a <br /> collaboration of more than 25 public and private agencies, health care <br /> providers, non-profits, and social service providers. This partnership <br /> provides a one-stop-shop for aging adults and adults with disabilities <br /> looking for resources and information on services and supports. <br /> Complete Streets policy Complete Streets policies promote transportation systems that <br /> incorporate multiple modes of travel, including bicycling, walking, driving, <br /> and using public transportation, and that are safe and easy to use for <br /> people of all ages and abilities. In this way, these policies support health <br /> and quality of life." <br /> Family Care home An adult care home that provides housing and services and has no more <br /> than six residents. <br /> Goal A broad statement of what a program will accomplish and who will be <br /> affected. A goal should be simple, attainable, and ambitious. It needs not <br /> be measurable or have a deadline.12 <br /> Housing stock The total number of physical dwelling units in an area (not to be confused <br /> with households). <br /> Housing subsidies Housing subsidies are government funding to aid low-income tenants in <br /> renting housing. <br /> Indicator These are the most specific activities that will be measured to evaluate the <br /> fulfillment of an objective.12 <br /> Long-term care facilities A variety of services which help meet both the medical and non-medical <br /> needs of people with a chronic illness or disability who cannot care for <br /> themselves for long periods of time. <br /> Natural area Term includes nature reserves. <br /> Nursing homes Also called skilled nursing unit, skilled nursing facilities, care home, or long- <br /> term care facility.
