59
Innovative Transportation and Traffic Systems (Transportation Demand
Management)
All students will be bused to and from the site thereby reducing the number of
vehicles using highway facilities.
Access Management
Access Management is proposed by providing one -way traffic movement through
the parking area creating a smooth traffic flow. No direct access to major
roadway corridors is proposed.
COMMUNICATION
• Stakeholder Involvement
Numerous public hearings and meetings have been held to decide the location
and to receive feedback from the community.
• Public /Private Partnerships
The school is a public project undertaken by the Orange County School Board.
LAND USE
Community Use /Events
Classrooms will be large enough to provide meeting rooms when school is out.
Parking can also be used by the public for activities at this school or at Stanback
Middle School.
Joint Use /Mixed Use
Coordinating the location of similar uses allows for the sharing of necessary
facilities. In this case both schools can share existing, and proposed future,
facilities without having to incur additional expense to develop them.
Compatibility with Adjacent Uses
The proposed school is compatible with the adjacent Stanback Middle School to
the south.
BUILDING AND SITE DESIGN
• Value Engineering
The building has been designed to allow for internal renovations without heavy
maintenance costs or requiring the applicant to incur major construction costs
associated with a renovation project.
• Low Maintenance /Life Cycle
The design of the building reduces the overall maintenance needs of the facility..
• Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
The overall layout of the proposed facility reduces the potential for crime in that
parking facilities are located in front of the building and under proposed outdoor
parking lot and security lighting which maximizes natural visibility.
• No Light Pollution
Lighting shall include full cutoff fixtures and foot - candle measurements at the
property line will not exceed 0.5 foot candles.
13,,:owpr hertvi eIIli in no Public l loo intqs'.Fmh_, ONWlartnushpAll9chucl 1rirtGrC %ihPi .p1,sP rtn,)i shipf USO, fDc
