December 23. 2005 49 <br />Flammersly, Corley Redfoat Zack -^ ,A^ Trigon Project No. 042 -05 -204 <br />Identification of wetlands was based on the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual. <br />Hand auger soil borings were performed to observe soil and hydrology at multiple locations at the site. <br />No areas characteristic of wetlands were observed within the property limits. <br />STREAMS <br />Based on our observations at the site, an intermittent drainage feature is located in the western portion of <br />the property . The stream channel originates at a stormwater pipe under NC 86 at the western property <br />the site (Figure 2). It is our opinion that the unnamed <br />boundary and flows to the northeast acros s <br />tributary to Richland Creek would be considered jurisdictional "Waters of the United States" regulated <br />under Section 404 and Section 401 of the Clean Water Act, the discharge ofbdredged SorCfill <br />Section 401 is administered by the DWQ• P' !3 <br />material into "Waters of the United States," and ensure State Water Quality Standards are maintained. <br />Any impacts to the stream may require permitting. Impacts may in <br />such activities as placing fill <br />within the stream banks, temporary or permanent stream crossings, and USACE be contacted pi i to review ih <br />channel. It is our recommendation that representatives of DWQ <br />rience this is most beneficial in the planning stages, because <br />existing conditions at the site.
