4 <br />Provided the BOCC finds in the affirmative on the general standards, the Zoning Officer <br />recommends approval for a Special Use Permit for the Partnership Academy Alternative <br />School for Orange County subject to the 10 conditions in the attached Resolution of <br />Approval. <br />Information /Issues at Planning Board Meeting on February 1, 2006 <br />(Comments made by Planning Board) <br />1. This is an exciting thing happening. It's been in the works for 104- years and the school <br />district needs it. <br />2. This is to help make sure that children don't fall through the cracks, and it is close to <br />another school so they don't feel alienated. <br />1 When will the cultural resources report be available? <br />9 Mike Hammersley with Corley, Redfoot & Zack indicated it would be available <br />before the Public Hearing, <br />4. There are no State natural areas within a mile of the site. Is there a County natural area <br />or historic site nearby? <br />There is a natural area of County significance about one mile south of the school <br />site located on Orange County owned land known as Blackwood Farm (a future <br />park site). The natural area is 18 acres in size and known as New Hope Church <br />Road Basic Forest. Blackwood Farm also includes an historic farmstead with a <br />house that dates back to 1828. <br />5. What is the timeline between phase 1 and 2? <br />Mike Hamrnersley indicated probably 3 -5 years. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Planning Board at its February 1, 2006 meeting <br />unanimously recommended approval of the Special Use Permit <br />based on the application meeting the criteria for approval and <br />subject to the first 10 conditions in the attached Resolution of <br />Approval. <br />The Administration concurs with Planning Board <br />recommendation and recommends approval of the application <br />for the Partnership Academy Alternative School for Orange <br />County with the addition of condition number 11 as stated in the <br />attached Resolution of Approval. <br />( ui,i.hcn',i i li ii:n 1:`i.
