the example of Garrboro and its financial participation in the creation and operation of the <br />Cybrary in the Century Center. <br />Since the Task Force issued its report in the fall of 2004, the BOCC has adopted "challenge' <br />resolutions issued to both Garrboro and Hillsborough on their willingness to make financial <br />contributions to the broad goal of establishing "free standing" libraries within their corporate <br />limits. A copy of the Orange County resolution issued to Hillsborough is attached. <br />Attachment 6-b - 11/15/05 Orange County Resolution to Hillsborough Regarding Library <br />Funding <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with discussion of these <br />topics. There are no action items requiring formal Board decisions. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Boards discuss the topics listed <br />and provide appropriate direction to the respective staffs. <br />
