//~j e g <br />DRAFT <br />ENO RIVER CONFLUENCE <br />Coming soon to a meeting room neaz you (late March -early April?) <br />Proposed Schedule: Workday, 9 AM-2 PM <br />Introductions and Statement of Purpose <br />To bring together all parties interested in the preservation and protection of the <br />Eno River, its watershed, and its tributaries for environmental, economic, public safety, <br />and aesthetic reasons. Subsequent to this meeting, small working groups would be <br />established to discuss in depth the issues of interest, with the intention that all participants <br />will reassemble in the fall to consider their findings and recommendations. <br />Presentations: Basic Principles and Existing Conditions (60 minutes) <br />1. The nature of headwaters <br />2, The mechanics and interrelation of Eno and Upper Eno water bodies <br />3, The health of the river <br />4. Land-use overview <br />Stakeholder Concerns (10 minutes each) <br />1. Durham City/County <br />2. Eno River Association <br />3. Eno River State Pazk <br />4, Hillsborough <br />5. Lake Orange entities <br />6. N.C. Division of Water Resources <br />7, Orange-Alamance Water System <br />8. Orange County <br />LITNCH <br />Issues to be articulated and explored (90 minutes) <br />L Capacity use, in-stream flow, and the relationship between reservoirs <br />2. Potential ramifications of Durham treating Hillsborough's water and/or wastewater <br />3, Groundwater and surface water interactions (large users, large-capacity wells, etc.) <br />4, Long-term viability of Lake Orange <br />5.
