Pham, Director, (919) 960-3877 <br />PURPOSE: To officially recognize March 2006 as Women's History Month in Orange County, <br />BACKGROUND: The Orange County Commission for Women will celebrate Women's History <br />Month with a presentation of the nationally renown play, "Words of Choice", as adapted by <br />Cindy Cooper, on Sunday, March 26 at 6:30p.m. at the Carrboro Century Center. Tickets <br />are $20 although reduced rates are available for seniors, students and those who have <br />economic need, Two local poets will open the show. Tickets will be available at Weaver St, <br />Market, Cameron's and from the Department or individual Commission members, <br />Approximately 180 tickets are available, <br />Current cosponsors include: Orange County Human Relations Commission, Orange County <br />Rape Crisis Center, NC NOW, Raleigh NOW, Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina, <br />IPAS and the Chapel Hill Feminist Student Union. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the <br />proclamation and authorize the Chair to sign it. <br />
