38 <br /> Orange County Transit Plan April 25, 2017 <br /> Service Enhancements Initiated in Fiscal Year 2015 Service Enhancements Initiated in Fiscal Year 2014 <br /> • Additional midday trips on Route NS • More frequent service between Streets at Southpoint and <br /> • Additional morning trips on Routes A and J Chapel Hill (Route 800S), with buses scheduled every 15 <br /> • Extended morning service on Route D minutes during peak commute times (previously every 30 <br /> minutes) <br /> Service Enhancements Initiated in Fiscal Year 2015 <br /> For regional services provided by GoTriangle, specific goals <br /> during the first five years included: • New commuter express service (Route ODX) connecting <br /> Mebane and Hillsborough with Duke Medical Center and <br /> • Providing new service connecting Mebane and <br /> downtown Durham <br /> Hillsborough with Duke University and downtown • Sunday service introduced on GoTriangle core routes <br /> Durham (Route ODX) (Routes 400, 700,and 800), including a connection to RDU <br /> • Extending existing regional service to connect Carrboro International Airport on Route 100; Saturday service <br /> with Durham (Route 405) extended to run until 11 p.m. (previously 7 p.m.) <br /> • Adding frequency, reducing travel time, and expanding <br /> Saturday service and new Sunday service on existing <br /> Durham-Chapel Hill routes (Route 400) <br /> • Expanding Saturday and new Sunday service on existing <br /> Chapel Hill-Research Triangle Park routes (Route 800) <br /> V <br /> GoTriangle has paid for about 6,700 new bus hours using <br /> Orange County Tax District Revenue (this number represents <br /> approximately half of the increased bus service on GoTriangle - <br /> routes because the cost of operating routes is shared with o <br /> either Durham or Wake County for routes that cross county <br /> borders). Under the Implementation Agreement, GoTriangle <br /> spends the full amount of its bus service allocation from the Tax <br /> District Revenues for expansion service; none is used to fund <br /> the increased Cost of Existing Service. - — - � - - <br /> Final Page 14 of 65 <br />
