The amendments had been <br /> proposed py the,Town of Carrboro and requited from a'stUdy of University Lake <br /> Watershed: prepared'by that community'S Water Quality Task Fbrcei The amendments <br /> Included tadditional, stormwater management practices, buffer requirements <br /> adjacent to feeder streams, and more estensive plan approval and permitting <br /> requiremebts: <br /> IMPACT: Administering the additional,Erosion Control,Standards will require 452 macho rs <br /> or the equivalent of 2.57'MOnths, The additional time demands created by <br /> the higher level of service required in University Lake Watershed, coupled <br /> with a 27% increase 4n inspection activities in other portions of the County,. <br /> indicated the nee(“Or one (1) additional irosioe Control Inspector; The <br /> half-ye (January-June) personnel cost for this position would be $10,432 <br /> and capitl costs for office equipment, surveying eqUipMent and a vehicle <br /> would be $34,Q,84 . (SEE ATTACREMENT FOR FURTHER JUSTIFICATION) <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): <br /> Approve establishment of the additional position with the $24,516 in funding <br /> to come from the contingency fund. <br /> Note: Previous encumbrances (community services restitution contribution; <br /> Efland Center stove and refrigerator; Employment Security Office rent; Lake <br /> Orange Suli-vey; Public Defender Office rent, furnishing and renovations and <br /> Ag. Preservation legal drafting) have reduced the Contingency fund to approxi- <br /> mately $79,478. <br />
