correct, or abate the violation or prevent the occupancy of the building involved. <br /> 18.5 Neither this ordinance nor any of its provisions shall be construed to <br /> impair or limit in any way the power of the County to define and declare <br /> nuisances and to cause their abatement by summary action or otherwise, or to <br /> enforce this ordinance by criminal process as authorized by North Carolina General <br /> Statutes Section 14-4 and the enforcement of any remedy provided herein shall not <br /> prevent the enforcement of any other remedy or remedies provided herein or in <br /> any other ordinances or laws. <br /> Article 19. Non-Conforming Conditions: <br /> 19.1 The area, dimensional, and proportional provisions of Articles 7.1, 8.1, <br /> 9J, 9.2, and 11.2 shall not apply to dwellings or dwelling units In use prior to the <br /> adoption of this ordinance, but no such dwelling or dwelling unit shall be modified, <br /> altered, expanded, or replaced except that any such new installation shall be made <br /> in accordance herewith. <br /> 19.2 The provisions of this ordinance shall not apply to mobile homes when <br /> Federal or State construction and safety standards provide a standard other than <br /> as provided herein and when such mobile homes, meet any such Federal and State <br /> construction and safety standards at the time of manufacture. <br /> Article 20. Conflict with Other Provisions. In the event any provision, <br /> standard or requirement of this ordinance is found to be in conflict with any <br /> provision of I any other ordinance or code of the County, the provision which <br /> establishes the higher standard or more stringent requirement for the promotion <br /> and protectibn of the health and safety of the residents of the County shall <br /> prevail. <br /> Article 2L Severability. If any provision of this ordinance is for any reason <br /> held to be invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such <br /> provision shall be deemed a separate, independent provision and such holding shall <br /> not affect the validity of any other provision hereof, and to that end, the <br /> provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable. <br /> Article 22. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be effective on <br /> - 2 <br />
