DURHAM - 68B-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: For the Board to rescihd a Stage I Water Shortage Alert in the OWASA <br /> service area invoked in accordance with Orange County's Ordinance <br /> Providing for the Conservation of Water During a Water Shortage. <br /> For the Board to rescind a water shortage alert calling for voluntary <br /> 1 conseryation measures in areas outside of UWASA's service area and <br /> to rescind its request for regular reporting on the lake levels at <br /> Lake Orange, Corporation Lake and Lake Ben Johnson. <br /> NEED: Abnormal rainfall during October <br /> t conditions that prompted the invocation of a Stage I Alert for OWASA's <br /> i: service area. The Lake level is currently at 24 inches below full and <br /> f conseqgently OWASA has asked the County to rescind its Stage I Alert. <br /> [ Drought conditions in Northern Orange County caused the Lake level at <br /> Lake Orange to drop significantly prompting the Board to invoke voluntary <br /> water conservation measures in areas outside of OWASA's service area. <br /> L Lake Orange is now at 24 inches below full and the need for water con- <br /> ,' servation and regular reporting of lake levels has now passed. <br /> IMPACT: <br /> | <br /> ` <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): <br /> e : <br /> Rescind the water conservation measures. <br /> ' . <br /> ■ . | <br />
