A second public hearing on the extenai.. <br /> of zoning Cheeks Township was held on September 27, 1982 aLang with conside Jticn <br /> of proposed amendments to the Land Use Plan to address concerns regarding indus '.al <br /> development in the township. The Board of Cannissioners delayed a decision on <br /> ti <br /> these natters to allow for further consideration of the proposals, Diming tecen <br /> months the planning Department has been condurting the West Orange Area Study ' <br /> which a major portion of Cheeks Township is included. . The major foctisei of the <br /> study have seen industrial development potential in the 1-85-US 70 corridor and <br /> the development of a water quality critical area to address watershed protecti <br /> concerns. <br /> , <br /> IMPACT: Extension of zoning to Cheeks Township will provide a means of protecting <br /> the water quality critical areas of the township, facilitate industrial <br /> developTent by establishing standards of development which would guide <br /> the decisions for large investment in the area for development purposes, <br /> control incompatible Land uses and determine the public costs associated <br /> with development. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />
