1 <br /> 3.5 LAND USE GOALS AND DRAFT POLICIES that GOAL V/VE: The management of growth at is is directed <br /> to areas where growth is desireable and can 05 <br /> be accomodated. <br /> REVISE 5.3 Direct intensive land uses to existing urban <br /> areas and areas designated Transition areas <br /> and away from areas which are suitable for <br /> continued agricultural uses and which are <br /> protected as water supply watersheds and <br /> water quality critical areas. <br /> ADD 5.19 Designate land in water supply watersheds which <br /> encircles the water supply impoundment and which <br /> drains directly into the impoundment and into the <br /> main channels of trunk streams feeding the impound-. <br /> meat as Water Quality Critical Areas, not suitable <br /> for moderate to high density residential development <br /> or non-residential development, <br /> GOAL NINE: The provision of water and sewer lines in those <br /> areas which can be practically and efficiently <br /> served by these facilities. <br /> ADD 9.3 Prohibit the establishment of public water and <br /> sewer services in the areas designated Water <br /> Quality Critical Area except to address emergency <br /> situations. <br /> GOAL TEN: Clean and safe water supplies available and adequa <br /> to meet future needs of the residents of Orange <br /> County. <br /> REVISE 10.2 Adopt and implement policies which specify land <br /> use patterns and intensities of development in <br /> water supply watershed and water quality critical <br /> areas that will minimize potential adverse impacts <br /> on water quality. <br /> REVISE 10.10 Direct urban development pressures in the I-85/VS <br /> 70 corridor in the Upper Eno watershed in Cheeks <br /> Township to the areas designated Ten and Twenty <br /> Year Transition Areas and away from the areas <br /> designated Water Quality Critical Area, <br /> GOAL ELEVEN: Adequate and appropriate sewer disposal facilities <br /> for all current and future residents. <br /> ADD 11.9 Prohibit package sewage treatment plants in the <br /> areas designated Water Supply Watershed. <br /> ADD 11.10 Establish an on-site wastewater treatment inspection <br /> program within the portions of water supply water- <br /> sheds designated as Water Quality Critical Areas. <br />
