A major tool in <br /> implempntation of the Land Use Plan and Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances <br /> a thoroughfare plan which highlights the capacity and deficiencies of the <br /> present thoroughfare system and anticipates the improvements necessitated <br /> firturel growth trends and demands. <br /> 1 <br /> IMPACT: The development and adoption of a thoroughfare plan will provide a guide <br /> the approval of development proposals in the County. <br /> A County thoroughfare plan will substantially improve the relationship be <br /> the TOwns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro and the City of Durham in the provi <br /> and- OVelopment of a thoroughfare system in the region. It will also pro <br /> guidance in the development of area plans along the proposed I-40 corrido <br /> The development of a County thoroughfare plan is a joint effort between N <br /> and County staff. No additional County funds are required. <br />
