a3 <br /> qt <br /> There have been two amendments to the Land Use Plan, since adoption. <br /> *REVISION within the Harmon Young Study Area. On November 22, 2982, a public <br /> hearing was held concerning a proposed Land Use Plan amendment to <br /> extend the Commercial Transition activity node along the right-of-way <br /> of NC 86 to allow Piedmont Power to construct an office building and <br /> maintenance/warehouse facility. A request for rezoning of the property <br /> and approval of a Special Use Permit was also considered at that time. <br /> On January 4, 1983 the Land Use Plan amendment, the rexoning request <br /> and the Special Use Permit for Piedmont Power Electric Corporation were <br /> approved. 1 <br /> e�" E <br /> 0.F Subsequenly, a public hearing was held on January 24, 1983 to consider <br /> an amendment to the Land Use Plan for a 149 acre tract of land located <br /> at the southwest corner of the 1-85 and NC 86 interchange. The amendment <br /> involved changing the designated 20 Year Transition Area north of the <br /> `.' railroad track and the Rural Residential area south of the railroad <br /> track to Ten Year Transition. The Land Use Plan amendment, as well as <br /> a rezoning, for the southernmost ten acres to R-4, called Wildwood Phase l <br /> were approved on March 7, 1983. A second rezoning application for 35 acre <br /> to R-5, called Wildwood Phase 11 , was approved on August 1 , 1983.
