Public water lines are available throughout the Harmon Young Area St <br /> The Town of Hlillsborough's water treatment plant, located on Ben Johnson Roa <br /> has a capacity of 3 million gallons per day.' Water is distributed throughou <br /> the area via a 16 inch water main which parallels Faribault Lane. This 16 i <br /> line feeds smaller lines thoroughout the area. A 12 inch water main extends <br /> down U.S. 70-4 to the eastern boundary of the study area. A 12 inch line wi <br /> also be extended down Valley Forge Road and will follow Cates Creek and the <br /> Southern Railroad to the property presently being developed as Wildwood Sub- <br /> division. An 8 inch main extends down and parallels Orange Grove Road. An <br /> 8 inch line also extends down Old N.C. 86 close to the intersection with In- <br /> terstate 85. A 6 inch line runs under Interstate 85 to the prison. Along <br /> old N.C. 86 flrom Oakdale Drive south to the boundary of the study area runs <br /> a 3!' line. ( EE Utilities Map) . <br /> SEWER. Sewer, lines serving the study area range in size from 4 inch to 10 i <br /> lines. The Town of Hillsborough's sewage treatment plant, which is located <br /> the Eno Rivericlose to the Brady Plant, has a capacity to treat 2 million ga <br /> per day. Sewer lines are not as prevalent as water lines and only cover a p <br /> tion of the study area. A main 10 inch gravity line beginning at the pris <br /> runs along Old N.C. 86 back into town. Along Orange Grove Road runs a 4" fc <br /> main which connects to a 10 inch gravity flow line on Old N.C. 86. Cornwall <br /> Hills, a new subdivision off Old N.C. 86, is served by a 4" force main which <br /> pumped back to Oakdale Drive. Wildwood Subdivision will be served by an 8" <br /> gravity line which will flow to a pump station on the south side of the Sout <br /> Railroad. It will then be pumped by a 6" force main back to another pump st <br /> located at Cates Creek just south of U.S. 70-A.
