The most severe slopes a
located in the northern and northwestern part of the study area along the E►2,
River and around Occoneechee Mountain (See Topography Map) . Relatively flat
between 600 ar+d 700 feet in elevation are scattered throughout the study are,
but are most noticable south of Interstate 85 between Old 86 and New 86.
Generally the area slopes in a northerly direction toward the Eno River
It also slopes easterly away from the high elevations in the western section
the study area.
Numerous ridge lines run in a north south direction through the study a
These ridge lines vary in elevation.
