Z7278 <br /> , <br /> . , <br /> Dear Chairman Whitted: <br /> On September 13, 1983, the Carrboro Board of Aldermen adopted the <br /> Waterqdality Task Force Report, with Addendum of July 1983. Some of the <br /> policies and management strategies in that report speak to actions contem- <br /> plated ito be undertaken by Orange County. In February, the Town submitted <br /> the original Report for the County's review.. As a result of comments to <br /> that draft we have revised our recommended changes to the County Sedimenta- <br /> o <br /> tin and E r sion Control Ordinance (see Section 8(1)(h) and 8(1)(k)). We <br /> hope these revisions and the entire scope of recommended changes to the <br /> Sedimentation and Erosion Control Ordinance are acceptable to the County. <br /> Plese note that Carrboro has adopted those ordinances which are <br /> necessary to implement the Report. The effective date of these ordinances <br /> will be Synonymous with the date the County adopts recommended revisions to <br /> the Sedimentation and Erosion Control Ordinance. In the event that the 1 <br /> County modifies the recommended revisions, would you allow us to review then <br /> will <br /> prior tosubmitting them to the State for its approval. <br /> It is our hope that the County Board of Commissioners will expedite <br /> this matter, recalling that the County has already reviewed the Town's pro- <br /> posals and has indicated a broad support towards the Town's effort and <br /> towards the shared concerns of all governments exercising jurisdiction <br /> over the University Lake Watershed. <br /> I <br /> Please advise us on the method in which you wish to proceed.. <br /> Sincerely. <br /> - <br /> Robert W.
