. : <br /> :-7,7•4 <br /> 41,7.S; <br /> 4 41,4 • ;4; '1?". 1 • <br /> , <br /> 081 <br /> *6.23 Extra Re.uirements For Protected Watershed Districts (P1I) <br /> *6.23.1 Stream Buffers Required in Protected Watersheds <br /> Within the Protected Watershed District, an area of land alon <br /> preanial streams shall be required to remain in its natural <br /> state, unless the area is subject to serious erosion in which <br /> case an erosion resistant vegetative cover shall be establisher <br /> and maintained. Perennial streams are those steams in solid <br /> blue on the USGS Quadrangel map for Orange County. <br /> *6.23. 1 a) Width of Buffer Calculated <br /> The stream buffer area dual start at the outer edge of flood <br /> plan and be measured a distance of fifty (50) feet away from <br /> the flood plain plus an additional distance depending on the <br /> slope near the scream. The slope shall be calculated by measur <br /> ing a distance Z50 feet from the center of the stream, determir <br /> ing the average rise in elevation and multiplying that value by <br /> four. This value shall be added to the minimum buffer of 50 fe <br /> to determine total width of buffer area required. The maximuu <br /> buffer in any case shall not exceed 150 feet. The flood plain <br /> is defined in the Orange County Flood Damage Prevention Ordinan <br /> by special survey by registered engineers or suveyors1, by the <br /> alluvial soil as designated in the Orange County 4Y-td survey, <br /> or through a site analysis by the Orange County Planning Staff. <br /> Slope shall be determined from the USGS Quadrangle map, by on- <br /> site measurements , or, by special survey by registered engineer <br /> or suveyors. <br /> * 6.23.1 b) Development Advisory Committee's Review of Stream Buffers - 41 <br /> The Development Advisory Committee established in Article <br /> 2.4.2, can review the buffer requirements for all develop- <br /> ments and may recommend additional buffer area where necessary. <br /> *6.23. 1 c) Permitted Uses Within Stream Buffer Areas <br /> The following uses are allowed as a matter or right in <br /> stream buffers . All other uses are prohibited. <br /> 1. Above ground and buried utility lines for local distri- <br /> bution of electricity, telephone, and cable television <br /> service, accessory and appertent apparatus such as <br /> poles , guy wires, transformers and swtiching boxes. <br /> 2. Bona fide farms except any use of farm property for <br /> non-farm purposes . <br /> 3. Neighborhood utility facilities located within a public <br /> nf WAV with tha -r <br />
