9g'28 <br /> xL. <br /> There have b e e n two amendments to the Land Use Plan, since adoption. <br /> within the Harmon Young Study Area. On November 22, 1983, a public <br /> hearing was held concerning a proposed Land Use Plan amendment to <br /> extend the Commercial Transition activity node along the right-of-way <br /> of NC 86 to allow Piedmont Power to construct an office building and <br /> maintenance/wrehouse facility. A request for rezoning of the property <br /> and approval cif a Special Use Permit was also considered at that time. <br /> On January 4, 11983 the Land Use Plan amendment , the rexoning request <br /> and the Special Use Permit for Piedmont Power Electric Corporation were <br /> approved. <br /> Subsequently, a public hearing was held on January 24, 1983 to consider <br /> an amendment 86 interchange. The enUment <br /> at the southwest corner of the 1-85 and NC involved changing the designated 20 Year Transition Area north of the <br /> railroad track and the Rural Residential area south of the railroad <br /> track to Ten year Transition. <br /> a rezoning, southernmost t tan acres to R 4, called U\ ldwoo6 Phase 1 , <br /> were approv ed on March 7, l5 3' A second rezoning application for 35 acres <br /> August to R-5, called il6wond Phase | | , was approved on gu 1 , 1983^ A third <br /> rezoning application for 3~01 acres on the east side of NC 86 to R-4 is cur- <br /> rently under consideration by the County. <br /> ~� <br />
