Pg.22 <br /> Water and Sewer GOAL: Extension of public water and <br /> sewer lines to serve areas which <br /> are in need and which are designated <br /> as Transition Areas and which can <br /> be efficiently served by these <br /> facilities. <br /> Objectives: To provide public sewer and water services to areas developing <br /> to urban densities. <br /> Recommended <br /> Actions: 'Encourage homeowners and developers to obtain public water <br /> and sewer services. <br /> 1 <br /> tEnter into negotiations with the Town of Hillsborough and <br /> encourage the Town to plan line extensions to serve the area. <br /> Encourage the Town to review the status of its water supply <br /> capability and take action to augment existing supplies. <br /> Initiate an inspections process to identify and address failing <br /> septic systems within the study area. <br /> Sanitation GOAL: Promote the health, safety <br /> and general welfare of the area <br /> residents. <br /> Objectives: To correct the problem of failing septic systems in the area. <br /> To improve existing drainage problems and to minimize aggravation <br /> of the existing problems as a result of further development. <br /> To improve the collection of househcid solid waste in the area. <br /> To minimize improper trash dumping and road litter. <br /> Recommended <br /> Actions: Initiate an inspections process to identify and correct failing <br /> septic systems. <br /> Encourage DOT to address drainage problems along state-maintained <br /> roads. <br /> Require new development to infiltrate stormwater runoff on the <br /> site and minimize the.offsite impacts. <br /> Development of a solid waste collection and disposal system to <br /> serve the area. <br /> Encourage neighborhood cleanup campaigns and owner maintenance <br /> of vacant lots and cleared drainage areas. <br />
