Public Hearing: <br /> Attachment(s Information Contact:- <br /> No Albert Kittrell , Director <br /> Phone Number: 732-8181 xt., 425 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider action on bids. <br /> NEED: As part of the final phase of the Northern Fairview Community Development <br /> Project it is planned to reclaim the landfill for other purposes and <br /> eliminate the health hazard resulting from exposed debris. Specifications <br /> drawn for the project called for extensive grading. This, coupled with <br /> the proposallof hauling the debris to the Eubanks Landfill , caused the <br /> bids to come in extremely high. The following bids were received: <br /> Mello onstruction, Carrboro, N. C. $535,000 <br /> Propst Construction, Concord, N. C. 630,160 <br /> Bids were ab ve budget ($152,000) for landfill reclamation. <br /> IMPACT: The lowest responsible bid was approximately five times higher than the <br /> landfill reclamation budget. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): <br /> Pa4c,r+ lanAcOl In ftneNn • <br />
