Watkins, NCDOT; b) 1983-84 Secondary <br /> Road Improvements Program c) 1983-84 Point Phone Nirbbee : 132-8181 EXT. 349 <br /> Sycram <br /> P QE1POSE: To approve the 1983-84 Secondary Road Improvements Program. <br /> tom: The NC DOT Board of Transportation is required by law,to post a County map showing <br /> proposed secondary road paving projects in the County Courthouse and hold a <br /> public hearing jointly with the Board of Commissioners on the proposed program. <br /> The required joint public hearing on the program was held June 27, 1983. <br /> The 1983-84 totpl allocation for secondary roads is $495,641, a 16$ decrease in <br /> funding from 19;82-83. This allocation includes $100,000 for paved secondary rood <br /> improvements, al decrease of 17% from 1982-83; $75,000 for spot stabilization of <br /> unpaved roads, la decrease of 12%; S275,000 for paving unpave roads, a decrease of <br /> 6%; and $45,641 for contingency, an increase of 12% from 1982-83. <br /> The allocationifor paving unpaved roads includes: <br /> 1 P.O.P. project, 3 P.P.P. projects requiring County participation (Oak Knob Court, <br /> proposed Northside Drive and Rangewood Subdivision), and 2 rural roads, including <br /> paving of the portion of Linden Road as requested in a letter from the Board of <br /> Commissioners to DOT. . <br /> IMPACT: Approval of the proposed program would allow DOT to schedule and complete the <br /> projects during the 1983-84 construction year. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Approval <br />
