Board of Health (BOH) Appointment
The Board considered further discussing the appointment to the Board of Health that
was formally made at the Commissioners' February 7, 2017 Regular Meeting.
Chair Dorosin said the original appointee, Dr. Barber, received a letter explaining the
BOH bylaws. He said Dr, Barber did not respond to the letter, but when contacted by the
Clerk's office, Dr. Barber said she would still like to serve.
Chair Dorosin said it is time to bring some closure to this issue. He said the
appointment can stand, or the appointment can be rescinded.
Commissioner McKee said this is an unfortunate situation, but he thinks it is best to let
the appointment stand.
Commissioner Marcoplos said Dr. Barber received a letter and did not respect the
process nor did she respond.
Commissioner Price agreed with Commissioner McKee, and said she disagreed with
the bylaws of the Health Department since the Board of Commissioners did not approve them.
